Meet the ATPL directors.

Greg is the founder and President of the Arizona Pickleball Players League (APPL) and the driving force behind ATPL. Drawing on USTA League experience as a player, he created APPL in 2019 to bring a similar team-based format to pickleball — building on East Valley Interclub League (EVIL Pickleball), which he started in 2012. He has helped leagues across the country standardize format, scoring, and rapid start-up.

Kathy has volunteered with pickleball tournaments for five years at Pictona in Holly Hill, Florida, and plays on the Northeast Pickleball League team the Golden Girls. A Florida Certified Public Accountant since 1995, she owns her own accounting firm and has served as Treasurer on nonprofit boards for 40 years.

Denise started the Oregon Team Pickleball League in Central Oregon in 2021 with six 4.0 women’s teams. OTPL has since expanded into additional divisions and a Willamette Valley region, hosted its first state playoffs, and now has more than 1,000 registered players. She also volunteers as Mixed League Coordinator for APPL’s West Valley Region.

Diane came to pickleball through tennis and racquetball, then built Florida Team Pickleball after a conversation with Greg Mather. As FTP president she has grown the league to more than 2,400 participants in a single season, with teams competing at ATPL Nationals.

Jon and his wife Dana are League Coordinators of Desert ATPL in California’s Coachella Valley. Together they built a successful financial services business. Jon began playing tennis at age three, discovered pickleball four years ago, and has been all-in ever since.
