Put Your League in Motion

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. QuickStart provides a proven path to launch your league — from organizing courts and promoting the league to setting up divisions, registration, scheduling, and scoring. Follow the process, build your teams, and get your first season underway.

Start a team pickleball league in three steps

If you want to start a team pickleball league, do not begin with a custom scoring system. ATPL QuickStart is the same program Florida Team Pickleball used to go from nothing to first registrations in under four months, then to 2,400 players in two years.

  • Tell us you want to launch — confirm your area and walk through QuickStart.
  • Get the kit — Rally software, rules, scoresheets, and captain guides
  • Put the league in motion — secure courts, recruit captains, promote the league, build divisions, and open registration.

What QuickStart actually includes

The kit is ATPL branded, flexible, and built to stay cheap at start-up. You are not buying a blank database. You are inheriting a running league model.

  • Team and player registration
  • Schedules, scores, and standings
  • Rosters, ratings, and match history
  • Captain and player mobile app
  • Rules, waivers, and code of conduct
  • Direct access to ATPL administrators

Why ATPL team-based pickleball is the right product

ATPL turns pickleball into a true team experience — building camaraderie, introducing players to new competitors and venues, and giving every player a chance to contribute. Its proven format and unique scoring system mean even a team’s weakest pair can play an important role in winning the match.

Unlike an all-day tournament, ATPL is a local league with convenient match times played over several weeks. With a proven format and QuickStart support, leagues can get up and running quickly, crown local champions, and give those teams a path to the ATPL National Championships.

What success looks like in year one

You do not need 200 teams in your first season. You need a complete season, clean scoring, and enough teams to create a strong, competitive league experience. From there, the same format scales — largely through word of mouth and now social media.

The Arizona Pickleball Players League, which created this format several years ago, grew rapidly across Arizona through the positive experiences players shared. The same opportunity exists in your community.

Build it. Prove it. Grow it.

Start with enough teams to create a great competitive experience. Run the season well. Let your players, word of mouth, and social media help drive the next stage of growth.

Ready to launch? Contact ATPL and start QuickStart. The first step is simple — we’ll help you take it from there.

How to Start a Pickleball League

ATPL leagues use the proven team-based pickleball format originally created by the Arizona Pickleball Players League (APPL): 10–14 players on a roster, a captain and co-captain, and matches where six players compete as three doubles pairs. Every game contributes to the team score. The format has since expanded well beyond Arizona, including Florida Team Pickleball, which grew to more than 200 teams and 2,400 players in just two years.
